I have been a preacher for quite a few years now, doing most of my preaching in Plymouth; but I have also preached in much of Devon and Cornwall. During that time I have written poems, prayers and songs in an attempt to enrich the worship experience.

Most of my poems, prayers and lyrics were originally written in English, but as my interest in the Bible and my family heritage grew, I started to write in Hebrew and Cornish, and a few other languages too.  Some of my poems rhyme in two or three languages.  I have found, much to my delight that my work has the power to move people.  It is my hope that as you read your way through my personal pilgrimage you will be moved, and blessed by God.  What began with poems and prayers continues to grow.

Breaking News - The first ever complete Cornish translation of the book of Deuteronomy is now finished. My next translation project will be the book of the prophet Ezekiel, which is due to commence tomorrow.  This web site may go down briefly at some point during the weekend for essential maintenance.

The translation of Ezekiel part one is under way.  Chapter ten is now complete.  Over 10% of Ezekiel has been translated.  You are now able to read my preface to my Cornish translation of Ezekiel, which also has its own You Tube webcast.  You can access most of my poems through the Mixture link above. The Mixture Index page has been restructured to indicate which poems and prayers are on You Tube [darker box], and which poems and prayers also appear in other languages such as Cornish [K], Hebrew [H], and Aramaic [A]. My web site has received over 253,000 visits.  Last year was my biggest year so far.

My poem Seven Hills is inspired by the incredible story of the conversion of the Roman empire from the enemy of God and the Church to the centre of a world Christian tradition.  As a protestant it is sometimes difficult for me to relate to Catholicism, but what a story!  Amazing Grace is about the Christian conversion of John Newton from slave ship captain to one of the world’s leading anti-slavery campaigners.  He wrote the words to the hymn ‘Amazing Grace’ which is one of the best known and most loved hymns in the world.  We Walk Together/Ni A War-barth takes up the familiar biblical metaphor of God as the husband and his people as the bride (Isaiah 62).  It is a poem about the love that is shared between God and those that walk with Him. It is with great pleasure that I announce the publication of my translation work on Hosea, Zechariah, and Malachi by the Cornish Language Board/Kesva an Taves Kernewek as part of a collection containing the twelve minor prophets entitled An Brofoesi Verra.  A Mixture of Poems and Prayers - Volume One has also recently become available on Amazon Kindle.  It includes two poems that have never been published before.  Just go to the Kindle ebook section and type in my name and you will find it.
